The most popular FIT PILATES STUDIO in Maspalomas’ San Fernando is on the Avenida de Gáldar, the road which leads down to the big Euro-Spar. The studio is since mid 2017 on the first floor right on top of the Garnier Bakery. (Before the Pilates Studio used to be in the Ronda Shopping Centre.)
The Pilates Studio is owned by Begoña, a very experienced instructor with a kind, funny and caring personality which vibrates through all the lessons. In the autumn of 2016 the second Fit Pilates Center opened in Vecindario near de Mercacentro, click to open.
The staff adopts Begoña’s attitude and all together they create a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, even though the classes themselves are usually fast and demanding. They watch you closely to see what strength level you have and then they make sure to challenge your body without exhausting it.
The Pilates Classes
Since 2010 the studio provides an extensive Pilates schedule every day from Monday to Friday to suit every clients’ need. You can participate in classes morning, midday and evening. If you can’t find a suitable time for your needs, talk to Begoña and she may start a new class suiting your schedule.
The classes you can take are Pilates mat classes on the floor, machine classes on the moving Reformer bed and now also classes on the Cadillac tower. If you are new to Pilates you will just have to try what you like best. Mat Pilates is generally harder as you have to support your own weight but it gives excellent results for your body’s strength and balance.
Reformer Pilates helps you build up your muscles a little faster and through strings and springs gives your body support to do exercises which you might not be able to do on your own. The Cadillac tower provides variations in the exercises and therefore more fun in your weekly routine. Only 6 people can participate in any of the Pilates classes, that way ensuring that the instructor can pay attention to each participant individually.
It is generally recommended to have at least two Fit Pilates sessions a week to activate your muscles and improve your health. You can also combine 1 Mat class with 1 Reformer class per week. Call to book your first class: +34 679 555 906
Other Fit Classes
Besides the Pilates schedule there are many other classes being offered, see the timetable above:
TRX: Working out on suspension straps which are attached onto the ceiling.
HIPOPRESIVOS: With the hypopressive technique you work your core, stomach and pelvic muscles.
POWER PLATE: In Power Plate session you strengthen your muscles while the machine does the work.
INVERSION TABLE: As a bonus you can use the Inversion table whenever you like for FREE.
ZUMBA: With Begoña in the CENTRO DE IGUALDAD every TUE and THU, at 19:00 and at 20:00.
PERSONAL TRAINING: With Begoña for personal training. Eight session for 220 €
Always interested in fitness, Begoña studied sports science at the university of Las Palmas and earned a university degree as a sports education teacher which qualifies her to work in Spanish state schools. Since 1995 she worked as a professional fitness instructor in Aerobics, Steps, Spinning, Body Pump and G.A.P. and since 2013 also Zumba and Cross Training.
After a sports injury she discovered Pilates and seeing its benefits, decided to give a little twist to her career. In 2005 she qualified as a Pilates teacher and opened her first Mat Pilates studio in Telde the same year while always furthering her education in the different Pilates techniques.
