Our Gran Canaria Restaurant Guide
If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink on the island, our Gran Canaria Restaurant Guide is the first place you should browse through. Since we started in 2015, we have put together a rather big number of establishments, which include speciality restaurants such as traditional Canarian, fusion cuisine, contemporary and fine dining eateries. But also bars, evening venues, snack-bars, night-clubs and more. If you would like to find restaurants by their ethnic specialty, head over to Flavours of the World.
There are thousands of establishments on the island, and it can be quite a challenge to find the right place to dine at, on an eight-night stay in the tourist areas such as Maspalomas, Puerto Rico or Playa del Inglés. Besides, there are some nice places which are off the beaten track and which you would probably never find unless someone pointed you in the right direction. We are talking of such hidden gems as the popular museum restaurant near Veneguera, the Grill Las Cañadas, about a 30 minutes’ drive from Puerto de Mogán. Ideal to combine with an exploration trip of the “wild” west of Gran Canaria, which is still almost untouched by tourism.
If you want to discover the centre of the island and head up from Maspalomas, you should stop at the Molino de Agua Restaurant in Fataga, which is secluded behind an oasis of palm trees at the rural hotel of the same name. And how can we not recommend to you our local fish restaurant, Mama Gata in Castillo Romeral, which beats any fish restaurant in the tourist areas when comparing the important criteria of freshness of ingredients, portion sizes, and final price.
Some of the above-mentioned eateries are difficult to find even on TripAdvisor. Either they have only a few comments, are sometimes wrongly placed on the TripAdvisor map or are simply pushed down to a lower position on the long and cramped list of recommended Gran Canaria restaurants.
Each of our listings will give you a full personal review, including photographs, as well contact details, a Google map reference and lots more general information. Since the very beginning of the Gran Canaria Regional Guide, our restaurant section has been hugely popular with our readers. We feel this is down to the fact that each review is so personal.
Every member of our review team includes their personal impressions in their reviews, and all of them consider themselves to be true foodies! Within our Gran Canaria Restaurant Guide, you will also discover a great range of cafes, cocktail bars and chill-outs. These are establishments specialising in delicious drinks, cocktails and snack-style menus.
