Dinner like an Excursion to the old World of Wonders

The Samsara Restaurant in Maspalomas is more than just an simple eatery! Most holiday makers don’t even discover this place unless a local points it out to them. Going for dinner in the Samsara is like an excursion to the old world of wonders or an outing to a Museum of Asian art. The food tastes if it is cooked by your best friend’s Indonesian mother who knows how to create a fusion between European and Asian ingredients.

We were positively surprised how home-cooked and delicious every single dish was from starters to desserts, for a restaurant which was that incredibly busy! On the other hand – it explains its popularity.

The decoration is amazing! There are hundreds of smaller and bigger artefacts hanging from the ceiling or placed expertly on windowsills, shelves and tables. And yet somehow it does not feel over-crowded. Rather the opposite is the case – the Samsara Restaurant feels cosy and safe. You just want to stay there as long as possible.

The Samsara Way of Serving

When we had dinner there the first time the manager himself took time out of his busy schedule to explain the Samsara’s way, philosophy and serving of their artful compositions of food. He recommended not to order too many different dishes as each plate has abundance, great taste and beauty as its main ingredients. Being six adults, with three starters, three main-courses and two desserts we had more than enough food to fill our hunger and enough variety to have a deeper insight of the menu.

Book Four to Six Weeks in Advance!

The restaurant opens at 19:00 only for dinner and all-though the kitchen closes around midnight, you can only have a table the latest at 10:30 pm. They insist on taking your time for relaxing and indulging in their delicious dishes at their exclusive place. There are about 15 tables inside and about 10 oasis-like sitting islands full of peace and beauty on the terrace.

If you would like to dine there on Fridays and Saturdays, be aware that there is a four to six week waiting time! During the week you can be lucky to get a table by just showing up, but don’t count on it. During high seasons it might be possible to reserve a table on a weekday 5 to 7 days in advance. But we recommend to call under all circumstances before-hand just to make sure that you do not get disappointed. Read what others have to say about this restaurant at TripAdvisor
