Taurito Beach – Playa de Taurito

Tucked neatly between Playa de Mogan and Puerto Rico in the South of Gran Canaria you will find the hidden gem of a beach, Playa de Taurito. The beach is only 150 metres long, but it is wide with lovely dark golden sand. Sun loungers and umbrellas are both available plus there is plenty of space should you bring your own towels.

Playa de Taurito Water Sports

Playa de Taurito is a great beach to visit also because of the water sports on offer. The likes of Jet skis, parasailing, The crazy UFO, Fly board and the Jet Boat 360. You can also learn and do scuba dives from here.

The sea is clean and inviting but sometimes a little rough making it not always the ideal beach for younger children. There is however a lifeguard. There are a couple of cute little caves to explore and make for fabulous photo opportunities. You do need to keep an eye out for the currents though so as not to get stuck.

Where to Eat & Drink

There isn’t much choice in the way of places to eat or drink at the beach but there are a couple of lovely bars and restaurants on the sea front for you to choose from.

Behind the Playa de Taurito are some excellent hotels, a Spa and the Lago Taurito water park which is open 365 days a year. This is all based on a huge site with a small selection of holiday shops, a mini golf, bowling alley, a la carte restaurant, plaza and bar. You can also pay to park in their underground parking even if you are not staying as a guest.

Regular buses run along the coast and will cost a few euros from all of the main tourist resorts on the island. If you do have your own car and you don’t mind a short walk then there is also an unofficial car park just off from the main roundabout.

Best Sunset at Taurito Beach

The sunset is also a spectacular from here and said to be one of the best on the island.

With all this on offer there is something for everyone. It is definitely worth the effort to maybe veer off from the main tourists beaches and we are sure you will be glad you did.
