The Mogan Mall in Puerto Rico, now the largest shopping centre in the South of Gran Canaria, saw a huge and flamboyant inauguration on the 21st of November 2019. We were there that day and recorded a walk through for our IGTV on our Instagram channel @LoveGranCanaria.
What can you find here?
On entering the Mogan Mall, you cannot fail to be struck by the tasteful architecture and the brightly lit modern high street shops. With 55 million euros having been spent on the construction, it is home to 86 shops and places to eat that you will certainly not be disappointed.
There is also a drive thru Mcdonalds and a Superdino (part of the Hiperdino group) supermarket with 750 places to park onsite.
All your favourites are there like Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka, Encuentro & Mango plus local favourites such as the household shop Rocasa, Ale-hop which is a fun shop to visit and ideal for novelty items and Natura famous for its home decoration, clothes and gifts.
Fund Grube whose owners are also one of the investors in the project proudly sits in the middle of the centre where you can pick up a designer pair of sunglasses, bags, shoes and accessories. They also sell your duty-free perfumes.
There are some great sports shops like JD Sports and Base plus great quality clothes shops such as Timberland, Vans & Lacoste. The shops are set over 2 levels with an escalator which takes you to a great viewpoint over to Puerto Rico’s other newest centre named The Market, Puerto Rico.
Water Fountains at Mogan Mall
A stroll along to the Mogan Mall’s unique water fountains, said to be the largest of its kind in the Canary Islands, is sure to bring many extra visitors to the area. More so, at 8pm every evening where the fountains are lit up with an amazing spectacle of music lights and lazers.
Food & Drink
The fountains are set in a courtyard with an array of choices to eat, from the Spanish favourite 100 Montaditos, which is a cheap and cheerful fast food outlet, to the more restaurant style eateries like Papi´s Grill with La Mafia, Tex Mex Sushi, and also an Indian restaurant soon to open.
There is also a fast food Noodle bar, Ice cream parlour, a Spanish style tapas bar Bistro Ibérico however, if you are looking for a healthier option there is Juicy Avenue.A wonderful new centre for all the family to enjoy, locals and tourists alike. We love it!
Where is the Mogan Mall?
It is occupying a huge area where the old Aquapark used to be. The centre stretches from The Market Puerto Rico shopping centre, to the Shell Petrol Station right on the other side of the road. About a 10 minutes walk from the main bus stop in Puerto Rico. Spacious free parking under the centre if you come by car.
