The family run mobile surf school Surf-Canaries in Playa del Inglés, in the south of Gran Canaria. The school is the daily meeting point, but the actually course takes place wherever the actual waves are.  The company motto is: Maximum Fun in Maximum Safety!

The school is run by Danny, Annika and their team and they welcome you to their head quarters and classroom situated at the foot of the sand dunes of Playa Del Ingles.

Different surf locations on Gran Canaria

They also operate on a number of locations around the island so depending on the surf conditions  they will decide the choice of beach for that day. This gives you the luxury of always having excellent conditions for you to learn and allows you to discover some of the most beautiful and secret beaches on the island, some of which never get seen by tourists!

Speaking different languages

They have some of the island’s best instructors who speak various languages and are always enthusiastic to teach all levels of surfing experience and all ages. They are also reknowned for their fantastic Kids Summer Camp.

Best day with instructors Danny and Julien! Very well organised from first to last moment. It was great fun. We spend plenty of time in the water to practise surfing and mess around. Highly recommended! (Look at pictures for Danny face in the back, so cheerful and happy for me to actually be surfing like a pro haha)

Had a very great teaser surf lesson with the team of Surf Canaries! Everything from organization to the introduction to surfing and the surfing itself was smooth and fun, so would definitely recommend it 🙂

My third time with this school. They're excellent all around. They make the day incredibly fun whilst giving great teaching before and during the surf. I felt there was plenty time to catch waves and as a nice touch you get photos afterwards. Very happy with all three visits and would recommend anyone to give them a go!

I would love to say, these guys are incredible! So patient, nice, all the time smily and taking care of us. As a total beginner, I enjoyed first lesson so much, I want to came back to Gran Canaria just to take another lessons! Thank you 🤍

The Surf Canaries team is incredibly professional, friendly and enthusiastic, offering far more than just a surf lesson. They deliver a well-organised learning experience, from selecting the best surf spot to suit different skill levels to providing thoughtful touches like water refills to reduce plastic waste and fresh fruit snacks at the beach.I came in with some basic surfing experience, hoping to advance further, and thanks to our instructors, Julien and Jordán, I was able to achieve that. They gave personalised attention to everyone in the group, correcting mistakes and giving advice. With their support, I felt safe trying catching bigger waves. I wouldn’t say it was easy, but what an unforgettable feeling that was!As part of the 5-day course, we also had a surf skate session, which helped me better understand the physics of turning the board in the water.Last but not least, it was so cool that the team captured photos during each surf session, letting me to see my progress and reliving those incredible moments during cold dark winter days back at home.

Great surf school, would happily recommend it! All staff very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. The introductory session for beginners was clearly presented and informative. We booked 2 days and the team helped us to reschedule the second day with no issues at all. They also honoured a refund for one of our group who was ill for the 2nd session. We hope to come back sometime 🙂
