This is without doubt the best experience I’ve ever had. The hotel is immaculate. The staff couldn’t be more friendly or attentive and the food is amazing. I felt so welcome and important. I was with my elderly parents and the staff treated them with such dignity and respect. The waiting staff are so friendly and always obliging. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. Everything was just perfect. I cannot fault this hotel one bit. Best holiday ever and I have traveled all over the world. They are amazing at what they do. This is how a hotel should be run. Trust me it’s worth every cent.

This is one of the finest hotels in the World in which we have stayed. The location is superb, the design and decor excellent; the service most efficient and courteous. The patio bar is also extremely inviting: quiet, rarely crowded and so relaxing. The views over the dunes are too good to miss.We shall be back!
Had a lovely week at this hotel. Half-board, good food at the evening buffet, excellent breakfast. Even has 2 fantastic À la carte restaurants that are included in your half-board (they were better than some of the other restaurants we visited nearby. Big heated pools, plenty of sun beds. The main thing for me was the staff were very friendly and always said good-day and greeted you with a smile , really adds to your holiday (we stayed at a hotel in Cyprus last year and the staff were all miserable). Only annoying thing was there was a charge of 8 euros a day for the safe in the room which was a bit weird but there you go. Would recommend.

Excellent hotel in a strange resort. Excellently presented, clean, good food, good selection, dubious entertainment, very much recommended. Resort odd, no real place to sit have a drink and watch the world go by. Little Toremolinos up the road, residential down the road. Dunes wonderful.

Hotel in the dunes (with the strong wind, you have your own dunes on the terrace), amazing view, great room and beds, rooms are clean, great breakfast and dinner buffet. The garden is nice, snack bar is great value for the price. Everybody is kind and supportive.

All areas and rooms and on-suite spacious with a luxurious feel and that makes it a very relaxing place. All staff are very pleasant. Free evening entertainment and food is nicely prepared. Alicarte eating also available alongside the buffet dining but it's the fastest trigger fingers that get the bookings for Alicarte spaces which is a bit unfair for the slower minded or less able among us. All the rooms appear to have a nice outlook away from the road. Very quiet rooms with a quiet ceiling fan and very low noise air conditioning. Every room has a balcony. Some 1st floor may have some huge balconies.

Recently renovated luxury hotel right on the edge of Maspalomas sand dunes. Room is spacious and well designed, big hotel with two swimming pools. Staff are very friendly and attentive, the choice of buffet style breakfast and dinner food included in half board booking is huge. This is a perfect place to stay and enjoy the generous winter weather in Maspalomas. The warm sunshine, the blue sky, the sand dunes, the palm trees and the sea….. a dream place to be!

We’ve been here yesterday once again for dinner. The food was marvellous as always. Only four stars because our waiter was completely sick, coughing and pulling up her nose all the time. It’s not her fault at all, I’m very sorry she had to work in such a state, but her chief should have been sent her home to rest and not to infect the holiday guests. Please take care of your staff and guests!

This is a wonderful hotel. Well situated with views of the Dunes and also close to the night life entertainments of Maspalomas. The hotel is quite big but very well managed and the biggest asset are the staff - all of them: from cleaning, restaurant, reception etc. All very friendly and helpful. And I don’t mean superficial nice, but really genuinely nice which one can observe in small ways of how they help and engage with guests! Very impressed! Compliments on who is in charge and for the excellent training. Two pools and are additional snack / restaurant places. The breakfast and dinners leave no wishes - except those of us who need to retain weight may have a problem with all the delicious food. The gym is small but adequate. The spa is probably not the best and treatments may not be up to standard. Our room seem to have some plumping and noise issues which I was a bit surprised at so soon after major renovations, but still not enough to be annoying. The noise insulation between rooms could have been a bit better, but otherwise perfect! We shall certainly come again. Highly recommendable!

Full Review of Riu Palace Maspalamos:Overall score: 94/100 - 5 stars - a hotel that is easily booked again, it offers all you need for a great holiday. Ticks all the right boxes and is globally hard to find such a gem in the hotel industry.Hospitality: 20/20 - absolutely nothing to complain about. Every single person in the staff is well mannered, professional, authentic, positive, helpful, and really willing to help. You feel pampered, you feel respected, you feel on holiday and taken care of. My absolute congratulations to the full team. And i sincerely hope they get an above industry average wage because they deserve that.Location: 20/20 - it’s right on the entry point of the Dunes of Maspalamos. The view is magnificent. It feels like you are really staying in a palace. The building is clean and kept clean. Not easy if you realize you are surrounded by sand.Rooms and facilities: 18/20 - the rooms are very comfortable and have a large bathroom. Everything is renovated. Beds are comfy. Minus point for having limited amount of double beds. Majority of visitors are couples of course. The balcony might use something fresh too, as its wide and empty. The views are not always spectacular, as the palace is low jn height, so the beautiful dunes not always as visible, but the garden is renewed and looks really nice.Food : 9/10 - the food is extremely good. You really must take the half board option in this hotel. They spare no expense - lamb crab lobster salmon monkfish etc all come in play. There is a showcook in fish and in meat every evening. A huge choice. All fruit juices are fresh. Only downside is the breakfast is every day the same - i would opt for something special every morning too - although this is difficult with the huge variety offered. The 2 speciality restaurants are nice, but lack something “more” than what we got in the buffet. Oh, and, as a Spanish hotel, if your Oasis restaurant showcases Spanish food, you must improve your paella. Add more flavour. It was a disappointment (although only one of very very few in terms of food).Beverages : 8/10 - We always rate by cocktails and let this be the biggest down point here.. The bartender means well, but the balance in the cocktails are a bit off due to oversized in alcohol. Undersized in sweet and sour. (and yes i am an expert;) Gin tonic of the better brands overpriced. Show preparations in front of the table however another big plus.Facilities and Swimming Pool : 9/10 - Great main swimming pool. The second pool seems reduced in size compared with before. A bit strange in layout. There is too much seating area and too little “something else” Maybe a waterfall element or jacuzzi or water volley court would be nice there instead.Leisure and Entertainment: 5/10 - the only real downside of the hotel. The performances were far under par here. Some groups were ok, but some - “Prince” headlining in this area - were feeling like a superstar but .. simply couldn’t sing.. Overall a bit dull and seemingly the same every night. Good enough for background noise, but i’m sure better can be brought here. Also why not add a cabaret show, a musical performance, a magician show, a comedy show, something to look forward to see in the evening. The hotel also lacks sports facilities so there is zero animation during daytime. A bit pity.Price/Quality ratio : +5. The hotel is, compared with others in this category of 5 star deluxe hotels, even a bit less priced than average. The half board option is a very tasty add-on and they don’t overcharge for it. Booking via agency or Riu can offer nice discounts from time to time.

It was my fiancé and I’s first trip to Gran Canaria, and goodness me are we glad we got to stay in this absolutely fabulous hotel! I can honestly say that the RIU palace in Maspalomas has blown us away! The service in the hotel is exceptional and the facilities are top-notch! Not only this but the atmosphere of the hotel is so peaceful and relaxing that we actually felt as if we were in heaven. We knew that we wanted a hotel that was luxurious and something that was adults only so we could really relax and coming here was an amazing choice. The location of the hotel next to the Sandunes was not only picturesque, but convenient to be able to reach the beach and the main shopping areas.I actually proposed to my fiance on this holiday and the staff were fantastic in accommodating my proposal. After I had proposed, the fantastic reception staff asked the housekeeping team to decorate our bedroom and it did not disappoint it! They made lovely Swan towels and decorated the room with rose petals and chocolates which was a really nice touch. I would like to give a special mention to Sabrina, Christopher and Loretta on reception as all three of them never failed to keep us in high spirits. When I say the service is exceptional it really is the best. The food was lovely too and was always served by a smiley front of house team!I very much love the pool when I go on holiday and the hotel offers a larger and a smaller pool area and both were very nice although they were on the shallower side. However this was not a problem at home because it was quite large and quite relaxing to have a dip.As much as I loved our whole experience at the hotel I do have one big massive issue that makes me not want to come back and that is that the hotel only offers half-board services. I didn’t think this would be too much of a problem upon booking as I didn’t mind paying for the odd drink around the pool and occasionally have a lunch in the restaurant, but the prices were very high and it did put us off drinking and eating in the hotel. I really wish this hotel would offer all inclusive services because if it did, we would return to the hotel every year without a doubt! Please can this hotel offer an all inclusive service, we wouldn’t mind paying extra ☺️Thank you so much RIU Palace Maspalomas for your amazing services, please bring in an all-inclusive offer and we will return in a heartbeat!

We stayed at this hotel in summer 2021 and we really enjoyed it. The hotel had been completely renovated during the COVID-19 months and it certainly shows. Our room was always clean, quiet, and spacious (huge bed). The staff was extra nice and helpful. The daily breakfast buffet was amazing: delicious juices, all kinds of pastries and they had some gluten-free options available. On top of all of this, this is the closest hotel to Maspalomas' dunes. On our last day we were allowed to use the hotel facilities as much as we wanted, and we were offered a complimentary room.In case we return to Gran Canaria we will certainly stay here again.

A beautiful hotel, very attentive staff and amazing food! Have been 4 times so far and have booked to go again. Hotel has been fully refurbished since my original post, so photos are out of date. Haven't been since the refurb as it looks like no longer has the character we loved. No doubt many others will love the update to the slick ultra-modern look.

This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are quite large and very comfortable and the room service is exceptional. Food and drink is also top and for a 5 star hotel, the prices are more than acceptable. Staff are always friendly and available to answer all questions and help at any time. Our vacation was fantastic. All in all, highly recommended.

Excellent hotel, great chilled holiday.Make sure you take advantage of being able to use the fine dining experience in one of the restaurants and also another night in the Spanish restaurant.Buffet restaurant on the other nights was still very good, just the other two experiences were excellent. On reflection, only downside was just a little out from an alternative bar/entertainment venue, to make a change, as entertainment in the hotel not the best. Well for two 50+year olds, not ready for their coffin yet!Still, drinks enjoyed on the balcony at night.Yes the Yumbo only about one mile short walk away, 3€ in a taxi, but even two visits there on a 10 day holiday is enough, lol.Sorry, only photos I have:View from balconyLunch at the pool barView from the pool bar area

I just returned from a week at the Riu Palace Maspalomas, my first time staying at a Riu resort, and I can barely fault the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of the Maspalomas sand dune, which I highly recommend. The rooms are spacious, clean, and bright, with most of the conveniences you'd expect. The only drawback was that there was a fee to use the in-room safe, and there were no steam irons available, only electric, which made ironing our clothes for dinner tough. The restaurant had a lot to offer, with a different theme every night and plenty of options. My sole criticism of the restaurant is that males must wear trousers to dinner; smart shorts are strictly prohibited, but a pair of casual jeans is OK. That logic seemed a bit perplexing to me.The staff throughout my stay were superb however, I do have to highlight one member of staff who offered exceptional service throughout. Andrea, on the food and beverage team by the pool and entertainment areas, offered a level of service that was far superior to the rest of the staff. She was charming, attentive, always gave you a smile and remembered your name. I cannot praise her enough, she’s a true asset to the hotel and her hard work should be recognised as she added so much to our holiday.Overall, our time at the hotel was wonderful and I would hesitate to return.

The location is very good directly at a beautiful promenade. No Beach...The food not bad but not a luxury. It is not easy to know the price of the drinks...no list available...The room is clean...A very big minus that they does not offer drink water in the rooms...a nearby Supermarkt visit or visits is obligatory to carry water in the room...the knives in the restaurant are not sharp enough to cut an apple...The pools are very good..enough place for everyone no reservations needed. All in all a good hotel .It deserves the five stars with a but...

Great experience. Beautifully renovated hotel that feels luxurious and has helpful staff. Usually I don’t go to resorts and prefer somewhere more to do nearby, but this was a perfect safe and relaxing option for a first trip overseas in two years due to covid.Things I particularly enjoyed were the views of the dunes, the pool and spaces outside to relax and have drinks, the included breakfast, the overall ambience, and the staff that helped us with rental cars and Covid tests etc.It was more expensive than I would usually choose, but credit card rewards made it more affordable. It seemed to have mostly older clientele, but it was good to be around people being careful about Covid. We had a great trip - thank you to the staff here!

Stay here for 8 nights on the recommendation of a friend that had visited a few months earlier. My experience of our stay was mainly 5 stars. The bedroom was large and had a great view of the dunes. The bed/pillow was very comfy, the bathroom had double sinks and a huge walk-in shower. Fridge/mini bar, iron, large TV, I could go on it was all there. The staff at the bars were all friendly, so why only 4*?There are a few reasons, the mini bar was not restocked until I asked. There were signs in the room saying don’t drink the tap water, yet the empty water bottles were not replaced. The tea/coffee was replaced sporadically, same goes with the soap in the bathroom. It was all changed when I asked, however with a room rate of nearly €300 per night you should not have to. The TV in the bedroom had loads of German speaking channels but in English, just news channels. Finally some of the breakfast, like the sliced bread was poor, dry and really not great.Critical yes, would I return, yes! As feedback just sharpen up on some of the customer service bits.

The service is BAD, not at all 5 stars. Or even 1 star standards. The staff barks at people and is not friendly at all. The manager of the breakfast is plain impolite and inefficient. Do not go there for a romantic getaway or a business meeting, it will make everything complicated. Thankfully, few waiters are adorable. Overall a very disagreeable stay compared to the seaside palm beach next door

Absolutely stunning hotel, me and my hubby have just returned home from spending a week at the hotel Riu palaceThis place is very grand and the food is amazing, 100% need to try the poolside menu chicken satay skewers are amazing, this hotel is spotless. Staff are really friendly and really helpful and the hotel rooms are stunning. Only criticism I have is that the gym could do with some free weights. I will 100% will be back next year. X

This place is phenomenal (and I can be a very picky guest!). Fully refurbed in Summer 2021, the rooms are large, modern and super relaxing; the common areas are beautiful with really exceptional design.Staff are lovely, the buffet is huge and varied (even with vegan mains) and it’s super clean. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

From the very start, at reception, to the last day everything was made easy and stress free. We loved our stay here! Plus appreciate the generosity of being able to use the hotel pool, amenities and change rooms on our last day till 3pm, despite the check out being at 11am. (Our ferry was at 6pm that night.)
