What an incredible place! My fiancée and I are avid animal lovers, and boy did this place leave a massively positive impression with us! So much learning, so many incredible species, all well looked after and loved. We especially loved the little screens along the way with little factoids about the different species - and we have to give an extra special shout-out to marine biologist Angela. She noticed our keen interest when we were at the deep sea tank, and took it upon herself to come and teach us about these wonderful fish! We had a really good chat with her for around an hour or so, and if you're really keen on learning, she's fantastic! Thank you, Angela, for making our visit so memorable! If you're an animal person, or even just a keen learner, I'd suggest you allow 4-5 hours for this! We arrived at 12:30 and left at 17:15!Fantastic oceanarium - highly, highly recommend!

This was one of the best aquariums I have ever visited. Very informative and with creatures I have never seen before. I definitely recommend a visit. We stopped and had a drink and ice cream at the little cafe, good value for money.

Fantastic place! Lots of species to watch divided into different zones. One of the largest curved glass aquariums in the world is breathtaking. Lots of places with lounges and armchairs to sit and admire sea organisms while listening to atmospheric music. A lot of interesting information about species and the future of our planet and threats related to human activity. Pleasure and usefulness.

Absolutely spectacular aquarium. While it is quite expensive to enter, it has a lot to show for it. It's big and has a lot of species of animals. The darkened lighting makes for great visuals. The big aquarium screen is an absolutely amazing experience and the highlight of an already great visit.

Very fun very cool aquarium with stunning big tank and cool interesting species of fish and other animals.I was in the one in Barcelona just a few weeks ago and its nothing compared to this one🙈 that one i would give 3/5, this one 5/5!Both are expensive but i can understand why- its still alot of animals..i would really recommend it. Hopefully they will add octopuses soon, cause they were improving some tanks.

Outstanding aquarium with the biggest tank in the world! This was a wonderful memorable experience and although it can seem quite expensive compared to other attractions in the town, it’s well worth the expense! We spent many hours here and had a great time, to just relax and look at the bigger tanks is a lovely way to relax and reflect! After the initial annoyance of everyone at the start amassing around the same tanks, it gets better and better, in fact it was the most memorable part of our trip!Cannot recommend enough!

If you arrive to Santa Catalina Bus Station, it's a Terminus. Take the escalator up. Once on the ground level, there should be the Elder Museum. Go to it. With Elder at your back, you'll see a parking lot. The Aquarium building is behind it, see my pictures. As for the aquarium, the tickets are pricey, but it's definitely worth your visit. The main hall is simply mind-blowing, also from the point of view of construction.

Excellent visit. It's really engaging, with an imaginative jungle walk, beautiful exhibits and an amazing curved window in a huge hall to watch the ocean fishes, rays and sharks. You'll never be closer. If I come back, my grandchildren will be coming.

Poema del Mar was a wonderful experience! A huge aquarium, with many informative and interesting displays, lots of beautiful aquatic creatures and a breathtaking aquarium wall - the largest in the world! It was very, very busy which was a shame - but hardly their fault, as we visited on a Saturday mid-morning. There are multiple places within to pick up a snack, and although not inexpensive, we felt it was reasonably good value for money given the captive audience and the windows within the restaurant that gave such an excellent view of the biggest tank.I would highly advise a visit if you are in Las Palmas - in fact, we took a bus over from Maspalomas!

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon. Not too crowded. Tickets can be buy on site. Tickets per adult: €27, SGD38. The aquarium has 3 sections: the jungle which included reptiles etc., the Playa beach which has a huge cylindrical tank with sea creatures and the deep sea which had huge deep sea creatures. There are seats around to rest and restaurants and eateries within. Took about 1.5 hours slow walk and some resting in between to complete.

Okay, 27 euros is expensive, but it is worth the price. It's a great attraction to bring your children, but it is also very interesting to adults as well. The diversity of life in the aquariums is impressive, very colourful, and somehow magical 🤩

We’ve already visited some sea worlds before but I have to admit this one was simply the best. Everything was clean, the staff was very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed watching the animals and the description which were also in English. Our daughter sat more than 30 minutes under the “Nemo and Dory” aquarium and had so much fun that we were even able to have a coffee in the cafeteria next to it😁I must admit, I doubt it would worth the money but it definitely worth every Euro!

Had a wonderful time here with so many exhibits. I really liked the one way system, which helps you see every thing that the aquarium has to offer. The price of the food is a bit extortionate so best to eat ahead. Or bring your own snacks. I really enjoyed the exhibits you can emerse into some of the tanks too. The big tank was amazing and chill. The highlight was being up close and personal to the crocodile.

You know, I was very pleasantly surprised! Normally a tourist trap like this is very hit or miss. Happy to report a hit. On a weekend (admittedly out of peak season), it wasn’t too busy - not too many screaming children and easy to see the displays. But the main draw was the excellent displays and tanks - they put the London Aquarium to shame. Really nice way to spend a few hours if visiting Las Palmas.

Very nice place! Enjoyed the entire visit! It was Saturday morning and it was a bit busy so could not see some of the windows as lots of people were gathered around them. Definitely worth it. Note that if you want to buy a drink there are normally queues at the first bar so if you can wait a bit and go to the second one you will get your order faster.

Nice aquarium, was expected to be a bit bigger but we really enjoyed visiting with our family. There is a big variety of fishes, sharks, turtles etc. There is a car park by the aquarium and you only pay 4 euro for the whole day. We left the car there, and after the aquarium, we walked and crossed the bridge and went into the center by the beach. We bought tickets at the counter, but if you book online a few days in advance, it's slightly cheaper.

As a usual aquarium you can see many different kinds of fish and sea creatures, there are also chameleon, frogs, and a crocodile. The entrance fee is 27€ per person. You will be given a map upon entry. You can take pictures (no flash), no food allowed inside. You can enjoy the view inside with some comfortable kinda like couches in a certain area. It's clean and not crowded inside when we visited. Overall, it's good ☺️👍

Well kept place. Beautiful creatures to observe. Amazing design and stunning aquariums with unbelievable wild life to enjoy.I couldn't have enough to watch those fishes, sharks, turtles etc it was hard to leave. I could easily have spend my whole day in front of the 36m wide observation glass or in the restaurant with the view.

Up with the best of the aquariums I have seen. Hard to say what they could do better. Takes several hours to get round so good that there is a cafe and restaurant. Large simulated outdoor area, great number of small tanks, one huge and one vast tank. Largest tank window in the world in an amphitheatre setting. Multilingual touch screens everywhere giving info on exhibits. Large windows into tank from restaurant.

The sealife is displayed with care and imagination and is intended to bring visitors as close as possible to the creatures they are trying to protect from extinction in the wild.Personally, I'm happy to pay the entrance fee if the money is used to raise awareness of the importance of conservation and help stem the destruction of our environment. The collection of different creatures is just delightful, and the darkened passages add to the sense of awe.The unique design is delightful, and the highlight has to be when you enter the main viewing room, which literally takes your breath away.

Absolutely amazing Aquarium! So many different species, it was a great afternoon. The two highlights of the activity: the shark tank section, there are chairs where you can sit back and just watch the fish swim by - so relaxing and peaceful and Angela!! She was just great! She told us all about each animal individually, gave us recommendations of where to go to watch rays in the wild, showed us a shark tooth that apparently not everyone gets to see 🤫 and was just really nice in general, really professional and passionate about her job, we definitely learnt a lot with her 👍🏼👍🏼Definitely recommend it

The way the animals are displayed at Poema del Mar Aquarium is truly remarkable. Each exhibit is thoughtfully designed, allowing you to get up close and personal with a wide variety of marine life. From the graceful movements of the sea turtles to the vibrant colors of the coral reefs, the displays create a captivating and immersive experience. It's a fantastic place for both kids and adults to learn about the wonders of the ocean.

Enjoyable time here. Lots to see although it's quite expensive to get in (mainly thanks to the rubbish value of the £ vs the €). If you have kids you'll enjoy a good few hours looking around.Edit: in response to the reply from the aquarium, they raise a very good point so I've updated my comments. I overlooked the costs associated with their work.

We came to the aquarium on a weekday. The line at the ticket office was short, so in less than 10 minutes we already had our tickets. For two adults paid 54 euros. At the entrance, after checking our tickets, we were given a map of the aquarium. We ended up spending more than two hours there. Lots of sea animals, big screens. We watched with interest as the employee fed the sea anemone. We really enjoyed.

Worth a trip on a hot afternoon. It's off the motorway, but poorly signposted and we got lost in the harbour.Car park was full, but there is an underground one behind the official car park.Fortunately we had bought tickets online, there was a long queue in the heat outside. The walk takes you through reptiles and amphibians first until you get to the awesome central aquarium with different shark species. It is warm in there and there was a long queue for refreshments - suggest bring a drink and a snack.Enjoyable 4 hours would do it again.Suggest tie it in with something else in the North of the island, like Arehucas Rum Distillery, but they close at 14:00.

The most beautiful aquarium I have seen so far.In recent years I have been to a large number of aquariums, but this was really the most beautiful.Throughout the complex, attention has been paid to the decoration, nature, beauty and most importantly the fish. The route through the building is clearly indicated and you gradually build up the tension. You start relatively small and the tanks get bigger and bigger, ending in a mega large panorama view aquarium. All aquariums are well maintained and there was not one fish that looked unhappy (don't know if you can see that, but still). If you take the time to go through it, it will take you about 2 hours. So absolutely worth it.(sidenote) There are two restaurants in the complex. Don't expect high quality meals here. The hot dog was cold and the spagetti was very nasty.

An absolute must visit if you are in the area. This place is fantastic!I thought the tickets were a little expensive but when I entered I was immediately happy to say it was worth it.The theming all the way through the place is great, so even when you are walking between displays you still feel like you are in part of the experience. The displays themselves are beautiful and varied, from tiny fish up to sharks and alligators! The giant tanks really take your breath away and the tunnels make you feel like you're at the bottom of the ocean. Super immersive! There is detailed information on all the displays in multiple languages. Lots of toilets throughout. A cafe, restaurant and gift shop. The walkways are all pretty wide so you never feel super cramped and it appears that the disabled access is really great as it is all wide and gradual ramps instead of stairs.Again, if you are in the area, don't even debate it, just add this to your list of places to visit, you won't regret it.

Fantastic Aquarium. 5 Stars. A wonderful and knowledgeable experience had by both youngest and oldest in the family. The Aquarium is extremely well laid out, clear signage in different languages and spotlessly clean. Very educational for our youngest daughter (8yrs) who read all the Digital display boards, which had so much great information. This was one of the highlights of our family trip in Las Palmas. Well Done to staff who were so friendly and to management who run a great place. Thank you.

Amazing variety of sea creatures big and small, many I'd never heard of or had seen in the flesh. An extremely large tank held sharks and rays among others. It was well laid out and had several viewing points for the large tank. You can easily spend a couple of hours admiring all of the sea creatures. I was even more impressed when I sent an email and video expressing my concern about a small shark being attacked and they reassured me it was a normal mating ritual. Well worth a visit.

A lovely experience. We went during late march and it wasn't too busy which was quite nice. Large variety of sea life with some really big fish such as manta rays. Overall was quite impressive, can see how the price of €25 per person is quite high but I think it is justified when considering the costs of running such a facility. Unfortunately the bar/canteen was closed.

Our Kids loved running around looking at the different water area's. It was very quiet when we visited...took us about 2 hours to see everything.

It was a lovely experience. I have a 2 year old daughter and it was a perfect outing for us as a family... there were a few type of fishes that were new to me as well... the mega aquarium was amazing... just the sheer size of it and the marine life inside was captivating... the restaurant overseeing the mega aquarium was impressive as well.. overall, it is definitely recommended for those on a family trip especially with young ones...

One of the nicest aquariums I've been to.Definitely go there if you're ever on Gran Canaria.A first for me was the way they incorporated the above landscape of a jungle into the aquarium part below the surface. Also a 39 meters long acrylic viewing window isn't bad either. It's me in front of it and I'm 6"4

Fantastic and well-planned aquarium that rivals some of the best in the world. The tanks/exhibits felt intentional and almost artistic, and the fish looked healthy and not crowded. The facilities were spotless and paths were well laid out and easy to navigate. The cafe, which offers views of one of the larger tanks, also had some great cakes available.

Well worth the visit there's a cafe there selling snacks so can sit and have a drink while watching the fish swim by. Parking near by we were there 3 hours and paid €2.50 easy to drive to.

Such a beautiful and relaxing experience. 10/10 would definitely go back again. Could easily spend a whole day there on your own (or with family and friends). The main large tank with the sharks is unbelievable.

Excellent for all the family.easy to use app guides you through with virtual reality bringing dinosaurs to life as you walk around. Everyone's favourite was the big aquarium room.you can spend hours in there watching the amazing sea life! Quick visit 90 minutes but easily 3 hours! Take food or use limited cafe in the middle.

Beautiful aquarium with a nice walking tour. Most bars and restaurants were closed. It was quite calm although it's August. A perfect day out. We spent over 2 hours here.

Amazing aquarium! Although the directions were a tad confusing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend having a coffee in the café as the view is captivating. The overall organization and infrastructure was very well made.

An absolutely astonishing experience! The aquarium offers a wide variety of different animals of all sort of sizes. You won’t believe it if you weren’t there. We walked through the whole place in around 1,5-2 hours and it was absolutely worth the price. Very family friendly too. A must see if you are in Las Palmas!
