Situated in the bustling residential area of San Fernando and a short walk away from Playa del Ingles, is the delightful Pantai Kuta Restaurant. It serves the most delicious and authentic Indonesian food! We think it’s a fantastic new addition to the restaurant scene in Gran Canaria. This cosy restaurant is popular with both locals and visitors due to its flavourful inexpensive food and friendly swift service.

My second home for Indonesian food! The owners cooked me off menu stuff which reminded me of home. Food wise they cater a little bit more to western taste, so you have to request authentic Indonesian taste and boy oh boy the food is amazing!

This place was really nice and quite reasonable. My husband had a duck in teriyaki sauce and I have chicken in the same sauce. The owner is a Finnish man who had another restaurant too, Kuparipannu.Only minus for my plate was, therw is not any vegetables or sallad.

Been twice there. As an Indonesian myself, I'd say, their Satay is the best 🤗

Ordered nasi goreng & bihun goreng. Sadly lacked the flavour I would've expected. Service was fast and efficient though.

Came with very good ratings but in honesty, the food is not as authentic for us personally. They had all the classics and typical Indonesian dishes but it just did not deliver in flavours. But it is super popular with the local canarians it seems and happy they have a good following. Service was very good and food arrived quickly. But unfortunately it is not for us.

What to Eat at Pantai Kuta Restaurant

The menu at Pantai Kuta is small, but serves all the classic Indonesian dishes. This means the ingredients are always fresh and prepared daily. We enjoyed a selection of classic appetizers including Yakitori skewers and Lumpia, which were vegetable spring rolls. We followed with the classic rice dish of Nasi Goreng,  and Bumbu Jahe, a prawn in ginger dish. We also loved their noodles Su’un Goreng. Each dish was brought to us very quickly, was nicely presented and delicious.

The desserts at Puntai Kuta really impress and it’s not often one can say that about Asian eateries! Try the ice-cream tempura and the delicate coconut pancakes. Both were super delicious and delicate. One memorable thing about this restaurant are the prices. At time of writing (June 2017) nothing on the food menu exceeded eight euros. This contributes to its popularity with locals.

Popular at Weekends

We visited this restaurant during a busy lunchtime. With approximately twenty tables available, it can get full quite quickly, so we advise booking for larger groups or special occasions. The quirky décor is memorable but more memorable is that typical Indonesian friendliness! Our server was very attentive and explained the dishes well.

The restaurant also offers a swift takeaway service. Meaning you can enjoy your favourite dishes at home. If you are looking for a taste of classic Indonesian street food and regional dishes, we suggest a trip to Pantai Kuta Restaurant!
