La Espetada Restaurant & Steak house in Playa del Inglés is well known for its super delicious and tender meat. We dare to say, that it has been for decades one of the most popular meat restaurants in the south of Gran Canaria. Who does not know their famous Provencale Steak for two?
The Ambience
The restaurant is only small, with only about 10 tables inside and since 2015 also about 10 tables outside. It has a warm and cozy interior, beautifully decorated with mostly wood and a nice terrace, where smoking is permitted. We loved the colourful table decoration and the flowery plates.
La Espetada is popular!
In the winter season it can get really busy, so maybe best to check by phone if you can make a reservation. The restaurant became so incredibly popular in no time for several reasons. Here are a few we could identify:

La Espetada is the first restaurant of the Addio Mare family. Their signature dish is La Espetada, a Madeiran speciality, which has two tender filets served on a hanging sword. As a side dish come potatoes and vegetables. Foto by Tommy Enbom
But the Steak Provencale for two is our favourite, and as we could observe, the favourite of a lot of other customers. There is really plenty of food for two, even enough for a third person if your hunger is small or you want to taste some of their wonderful starters.
There are few specialties you can only get in this restaurant in Playa del Inglés. For example the cheese lover plate which we cannot remember the name of on the menu anymore. The dish consists of three different melted cheeses served in a hot iron pan. Absolutely ideal starter to be accompanied with a dry white wine.
How to get to La Espetada
The restaurant is situated in the heart of Playa del Inglés, in the Edificio Los Molinos on the corner of Avenida Gran Canaria and the beginning of the Avenida de Las Tirajanas. Basically right opposite the two towers of Edificio Mercurio, where the main post office is situated.
If you are staying in the area, it is best to walk or get a taxi . That way you can also allow for a second drink. If you do come by car and be prepared that might have to park about 100 m or more away from the restaurant.
