The Italian Restaurant PEPENERO serves the most exquisite Italian cuisine. In our humble opinion it is probably one of the best Italian restaurants in whole of Gran Canaria. The Pepenero is located on the corner of Hotel Maspalomas Dunas Resort, close to the Maspalomas Golf Club and right next to the Lebanese Restaurant Beirut in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria.

We have been regulars for a long time in PEPENERO.  Here we can sit in a beautiful, relaxing ambience and enjoy good homemade Italian specialties with a nice glass of wine. The staff always makes us relax and enjoy.

The Food is Excellent

Simply said, the food is excellent. The menu is interesting with a nice selection of choice, offering true Italian specialties for affordable prices. Exquisite main courses can be ordered, such as Stone-grilled Meat, Butter/Champagne Salmon, Risotto, or their specialty Sautéed King Prawns, to name only a few.

When you come to eat at this restaurant, you do not come just for pizzas!  Although their authentic Italian pizzas are also truly delicious.

It is all the other amazing compositions, which are cooked to perfection and presented as if you were eating in a 5* restaurant.

No matter if you are a meat or fish lover, vegetarian or even vegan – you will find a nice selection of choices for starters, main courses and desserts to satisfy your appetite.

The food at PEPENERO is simply fresh and delicious and everything you would want from an Italian restaurant.

Another one of their specialties and their guest’s favorite (and ours) is the Spaghetti PEPENERO – Prepared inside a flambeed parmesan Cheese.

Restaurant PEPENERO is an informal but tasteful Italian restaurant with a touch of elegance and style every where you look. The restaurant is like one big cozy terrace were indoors blend nicely together with the outside. Its elegant and tasteful, which create the perfect atmosphere for your evening out.

PEPENERO also has a big front terrace which are ideal for a drink before or after your meal. Some days the restaurant has Live music and the terrace fills up fast from about 19:00 in the evening. If you would like a space on the terrace we recommend you make an pre-reservation by phone or online.

The Desserts

We love their delicious desserts. There is always a wide selection of typical Italian and international, desserts. There is something special for every type of sweet tooth. – Their Tiramisu is to die for 🙂

The Staff

The waiters at Italian Restaurant PEPENERO are friendly and efficient. They always make you feel welcome, joking around if you are up for it and remain their distance if you prefer privacy. The chefs are always immaculately dressed. It is obvious, the management puts a lot of pride and care into the restaurant, making sure everything runs smoothly.

How to get there

The Restaurant Its located in Maspalomas next to Hotel Dunas Maspalomas Resort, and if you come by car, there is plenty of street parking around the restaurant. If you come by foot we recommend you follow the big empty “riverbed” running through Maspalomas from the football fields past HolidayWorld all the way to the Charka. If you just follow the “river” towards the sea, you cant miss the restaurant.

Lovely thin base pizza with a good selection to choose from. Staff very friendly and polite. We had two starters, two pizzas and a couple of soft drinks with a bottle of water and only 55€. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Pepenero — a pleasant surprise after feeling skittish from some of the scathing reviews. We split a the mixta salad — huge portion, very fresh and delicious. Then I had pizza and hubby had pasta. Both were excellent. Was it the finest pretentious Italian trattoria? Absolutely not. But you knew that as soon as you saw plastic chairs walking in, and that’s not what we were seeking anyway.It reminded me of so many little quaint local street cafes and pizzerias I’ve been to in small towns in Italy—those hidden gems that aren’t on the main drag, but are delightful nonetheless. The service and attention to detail were both outstanding, the food was quite delicious, it was quiet — and we loved it so much we stayed for dessert. Get the semifreddo pistacchio! Amazing.

We had an absolutely delicious meal here tonight at this super dog friendly italian restaurant. All.of the staff were so nice and helpful, the pizzas we had were so tasty sadly too full to try dessert the profiteroles looked amazing! Definitely one to go back to.

Our hotel doesn’t have much in close proximity, but luckily we found this gem 10 minute walk away. We had pizzas so can only comment on those but they were very nice, homemade in a pizza oven. Went during the day and was very quiet, only us and one other table but don’t let that put you off. Reckon it’s much busier in the nighttime!

The fish in the fish dish had minimal fish in it. We then had to pay extras for potatoes. The calamari risotto only included 2 strands of calamari.The pasta and pizza dishes may be better value.

I expected an American pizza place for some reason and this is not it!This was a very good Italian pizza place.I had a pizza & glass of wine - both were great!The staff was very nice and accommodating.I would defo come again.

Just visited with my family for a nice meal out. I honestly can't fault the service, friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The pizzas were extremely tasty but quite large and certainly more than enough for two people. The lasagne looked a bit dry but the people eating it Said it was really nice and whilst looking dry it wasn't.Unfortunately one table behind us was trying the "it was cold in the middle" regarding their fillet steak that they ordered rare (funny, they ate the lot before complaining). They were obviously trying to get the €26 dish taken off the bill.I really can't fault them.5 mains, 1 large beer and 5 bottles of coca cola came to a reasonable €96

My son and I came here on day 3 of our holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service raised the experience to an even higher level. Mario was amazing! It was so good we returned for our last night and it did not disappoint.My pasta was gorgeous and my son loved his pizza. Bravo!!

We had some great pizzas here, especially the Capricciosa was delicious. The service was good and they were really kind. We were wondering why the place was pretty quiet (maybe because it was not high season), because of the quality and the good service. They even had a violin player playing classical music beautifully.
