The Candombe Bar is an Uruguayan Restaurant in San Fernando, Maspalomas. Quite well known amongst the locals for its Uruguayan cuisine and the tasty combinations of ingredients! The restaurant is also starting to build an interesting rank on TripAdvisor.
The Food at the Candombe Bar
After a good friend recommended it to us on various occasions, we finally went to try. Oh, we were pleasantly surprised.
We have been at the Candombe Bar and Restaurant a few times since. Usually a quick lunch with our children after they finish school. It’s conveniently near and everyone finds something they like, even the picky ones in our family.
We tried the three mini-burgers plate, which can be different each time, as the chef decides which 3 mini-burgers to serve. On the pic below, one of mine was served with a quail egg, would you believe!
We have also tried their steak dish Milanesa, baked with cheese and a fried egg on top. Or the Argentinian Chorizo served elegantly on a stone slab accompanied with a Chimichurri sauce. Or the Candombe salad with all kinds of delicious ingredients. To be honest, we liked all the dishes we have ordered so far, no matter if burger, meat, chips or salad. Even the desserts were nice.
On the roof-covered terrace right next to the street parking are about 10 tables. Plenty for everyone to have a nice seat in the shade. In the green areas around the terrace are some trees and bushes, which gives the restaurant a nice street restaurant feel.
Prices of the Candombe Bar
We found the prices fair for the quality and quantity of food. A person can have a full meal there for 10 to 15 Euros. And if you go there for a quick lunch with the family it does not cost you an arm and a leg. If we have inspired you to go and try and let us. And drop us a few lines below.
Where it is
The Candombe Bar lays in on one of the backstreet in San Fernando, Maspalomas, square across the new municipal park, Parque Multifuncional. Easiest to find when turning off at the round-about which comes up from the Maspalomas church, and near the IES Amurgas school. Another big plus: Always plenty of free parking spots available right next or near to the restaurant.
