There is Something for Everyone
After people get to know it better, they discover that the Barbacoa Gran Canaria is much more than just an evening show-bar and restaurant.
People love the Barbacoa Gran Canaria because of the funny and entertaining shows – of course. But they also love it because of the home-made British and International food, the separate Cocktail Bar and Fun Pub, the different dance and disco areas, the KidzWorld, and the fantastic view over the ocean just to name a few. And we cannot forget the thoroughly friendly and dedicated staff.
The whole interplay of the different venues and entertainment, all separated yet all close to each other is quite impressive. Through the persistent vision and aim of the owner over more than a decade to create a venue which was missing in Puerto Rico, the Barbacoa Gran Canaria has developed into a family centre which has Something for EVERYONE!
With chill out areas, cocktail bar, tribute shows, sports TV, disco nights, Karaoke, kids entertainment, play-ground, tennis courts, Petanca court, beer garden, bakery, take-way, free WIFI – you name it, they have it.
The Barbacoa Restaurant
The heart of BARBACOA GRAN CANARIA is the restaurant and the show bar, with a prime spot overlooking Puerto Rico and the Atlantic ocean. Just sitting there and enjoying a Full English Breakfast with a cup of proper English tea, while marvelling at this view, is the best start of a day.
On TripAdvisor quite a few customers report that they come to have breakfast, lunch and dinner here on several days of their holiday.
Open from 8:30 in the morning all the way through to 3:00 am all year round the Barbacoa Restaurant offers delicious food around the clock.
The focus is on home-cooked British classics as well as International food and of course the Spanish & Canarian classic, like Paella, Canarian potatoes, prawns in garlic and traditional fish dishes. Kids have their own menu and each receive a colouring & quiz book to keep them entertained while waiting for their food . No wonder people return on a regular basis.
Real British Carvery on Sundays
On Sundays during the summer, the Barbacoa is offering a British Carvery. You can choose from four different meat cuts, which is served on your plate by the head-chef himself. It comes with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes and you can add all the side-dishes, vegetables, gravy and sauces as many times as you want.
The Barbacoa Show Bar
“A night with the stars” is the slogan of the BARBACOA SHOW BAR and they are definitely not wrong there. Every single night the entertainment starts after 7pm, with music, shows, compares, karaoke and games. The show-master introduces the different acts, organizes the daily game-shows and simply makes sure that everyone is enjoying themselves.
The shows are being announced daily on the different noticeboards and on their Facebook page. There is quite a big variety of acts: tribute singers like Abba, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Elvis and much more. On other nights hypnotists, duets, stand-up comedians or drag shows take the stage. The aim here is to make every night a special night.
The Barbacoa Show Bar in the Winter
During the winter months famous stars from Denmark come to Gran Canaria to perform on the stage of the Barbacoa! These shows are getting increasingly more popular every year, not only amongst the Danish, but all the Scandinavian holidaymakers and residents on the island.
Some people even plan their holidays according to the event calendar of the Barbacoa Show-Bar!
The winter entertainment is announced in October and the tickets can be bought in the restaurant or by contacting the Barbacoa directly. The winter shows on Tuesdays fill the house to the rim. When famous stars are on, an entrance fee is charged.
