We are currently on day 12 of 14 and we are so impressed. Sitting on the balcony at 12am and it’s so peaceful. Clear sky and you can generally see the stars.Food is nice, people seem to be nice, staff are amazing and here are some photos.Food is good, Japanese restaurant is brilliant, Spanish is. I am not a great fan of the snack bars, but the restaurant food is very good.Drinks are decent, you couldn’t really ask for much more and the rooms are very clean. Overall very impressed.

Excellent hotel with outstanding service!RIU Papayas is a fantastic hotel with an extremely kind, friendly, and professional staff. They are always happy to answer any questions and explain everything clearly, making you feel welcome from the first moment. The food is delicious, varied, and well prepared, with plenty of options every day.The hotel is conveniently located, with two bus stops nearby, making it easy to explore the area. The animation team is absolutely top-class – energetic, fun, and truly professional, creating a great atmosphere throughout the day and evening.A big bonus is that if you book the hotel through the RIU app, you also get a free airport transfer both to and from the airport, which is very convenient.Highly recommended – we would definitely return!

We had a stay in beginning of january and the staff was very nice, also the food is very good. The hotel itself is quit boring as there is no real play area for kids or playroom with games.Rooms are very noisy.Wouldn't return, but that is mainly because Playa d'ingles is very outdated. it stil looks the same as 20 years ago and that is not a good sign.

TL:DR: Not preferrable if you are a young adult - or you won't be out of hotel for everyday. and only eat and drink and sleep in hotel. Price-Performance very mid. Could be much better...Here to make a short (!) and concise review, i stayed here for 6 Nights: Let's start with positives, the location is very good in the middle of Maspalomas, a lot of places are very good reachable by walking, there is a bus to beach 5-6 times a day, other positive is the food there are two restaurants where you can make reservation, they serve much more than enough good food and varieties, service people are very friendly and helpful - TUI spokesperson at the hotel was an arrogant and unhelpful one though, only trying to sell tours but this is for TUI review...Now to negatives: If you are a young person and not "Deutscher Rentner über 60", just do not book this hotel, at times you feel like in Senior home, like really, and they look at you like you are ruining their fun... Other Rentner "Dutch people for example" are much more friendlier, but still they are over 60-70 and have another understanding of having fun, Animation is "below par", the program is very empty for a "4 stars hotel" but i think the service people- reception and people for animation are the best, they try to do good work and entertain, but you know money is decisive here. And the rooms are old, drawers make noise, we needed to change our room keys 4 times... And the cocktails are from a machine and are 90% ice - varieties are good though, icy pina colada, icy mojito (Baileys and Sekt were exceptionally good though)...All in all: we were happy but fully bored. I mean If you treat it like a hostel -stay for meals, go out a lot of the time and make your own fun- then it is a good choice. Otherwise, just pay 500 Euros more for somewhere else...

Great service. Best staff we have come across. Bags taken to room. Staff seemed genuinely happy to help over all areas. No charges for pool towels and safe and bottled water. No queuing for drinks or restaurant.Entertainment by pool or lovely quiet bar for drinks. Asian and Spanish restaurants.Free bus to beach. Free bus to neighbouring hotel for white night or neon night.Only negative was sunbathing area by pool was really cramped. Found sunbathing area upstairs which was great but had to do stairs for pool and bar.Would definitely recommend and return

Fantastic time and the restaurants you have to book was very nice. The place was beautiful the room has a low rating because the family room wasn’t to clean there was marks and stains on the wall. The regular rooms was nice I heard. Would I go back … high possibility.

Just back from a week here and I have to say I really enjoyed it. All of the staff are incredibly friendly from the waiters to the cleaners and everyone in between. The hotel is absolutely spotless and feels quiet modern. A few things I was slightly disappointed with included the food, I know all inclusive hotels can be repetitive but I could literally close my eyes and walk around the restaurant at lunch and dinner and tell you exactly where everything was, same went for the snack bar, there needs to be more variety. The two themed restaurants (Asian and Spanish) were absolutely gorgeous though so be sure to book on the app as they can be difficult to reserve. I also didn't like the fact that all the bar areas were outside. I've never stayed in a hotel before where there was so little inside the actual building, there's really just the reception area inside and that's it. I would have probably stayed up later a few nights at the bar had it been inside but it just got too chilly in the evenings even with a jacket. One other small negative I found as a non smoker was the amount of smoking around the pool area and where games were taking place and at the shows in the evenings, I know the laws are different in Spain to Ireland but it was the first time at a hotel where I regularly found myself having to move from where I was because of the smell of smoke. There are no smoking signs up in certain areas yet there's ash trays left out in these same places and staff don't seem to enforce the rules even when some other guests made compaints. Aside from all that I have to say the animation team are absolutely fantastic. A big shout out to Iris (hope I've got her name right) who was enjoying her first week as part of the animation team, she was very friendly and good fun as were all the team. The activities could be a bit more varried, since there's such a lovely pool I'm surprised there was no water polo/volley etc but overall a really enjoyable week in a really good location (short taxi from all the main shopping areas etc). I'd give the hotel a 4/5 rating it would be 5/5 if the food improved and there was an indoor bar area. Oh, by the way, I was stunned to see that all the spirits were top brands, not cheap local staff, the beer wasn't bad either. In fact, I had to ask the bar staff to go easy on the spirits they weren't afraid of the measurements at all, this makes a welcome change from a lot of all inclusives. The all inclusive was 24 hours as well which is incredible!

I stayed here for a week 12/12/24 the rooms are pleasant and cleaned daily by extremely hard working people. Food was average but always something to eat. Mainly Germans and Norwegian's about 5% British guests. For any smokers wishing to stay here DONT!! This is a non smoking hotel and you are not allowed to smoke on your balcony, if you do want to smoke you need to leave your room and have a walk outside to the smoking post. I'm disappointed with this Riu hotel due to lack of signage stating smoking isn't permitted on you rooms balcony/terrace.I had a 1st floor room above one of the bars and due to the of signage not being in place I thought it was fine to smoke on the balcony, yesterday I had one obnoxious yank (American) staring up to me on my balcony, he ordered me to put my cigarette out in the rudest manor but he was a yank so I wouldn't expect anymore. We got into a very heated argument about smoking and he's a very lucky little man that I didn't go to town on him. This was the hotels fault for no signage about SMOKING ON YOUR BALCONY. Even the directory of services booklet in my room didn't say anything about smoking on your balcony.I wouldn't stay here again , I can't wait to check out of this hotel. I've only got a few hours left to go before I can wave goodbye.

We’ve had a super holiday at the RIu Papayas. The rooms are really nice and cleaned perfectly. The restaurant is very nice with lots of options. The Ole Spanish restaurant is great. Tapas starters and then we had a perfectly cooked steak, the Zhu Asian restaurant is also really good. Loads of choice and it’s buffet style so you can really indulge. The bars are good and the drinks selection is great. We love the pool area. Loads of sunbeds and it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere. The animation team work really hard to keep people engaged too. The location is perfect. 15 minutes to the beach and to jumbo. We love it here

Staff can't do enough for you, really friendly food not brilliant in my opinion, no sausages at breakfast and scrambled egg like liquid, bacon either hardly cooked or too hard to chew , snack bar, lunch and evening meal average also.Rooms are great with a free safe, free pool towels , free large bottles of normal and sparkling water. Our room only has one electric socket and one in bathroom which is not ideal ! My wife has to unplug the fridge in a cupboard to dry her hair, Good to have areas for none smokers, drinks are good including Beefeater Gin, not sure about other spirits. Only our 3rd day so will update later

I had such a wonderful time at this hotel during our 12 days stay. The staff is kind and helpful when needed. The room is cleaned every day, and the cleaning ladies are so friendly and happy. On the evenings we’ve been enjoying some good entertainment, and nice drinks 🍸If you need anything, just ask some one from the staff and they help you, or guide you to some one els who can help :)I loved the food in the Asian restaurant, but the food in the main restaurant I think need a little bit more spice. Otherwise the food is good. This is a hotel I like coming back to!

First the negative then the positive.Hotel is quite noisy, once the room balcony doors are closed the noise from the pool is fine. However, the noise from the hallway echos, even with the heavy room door closed.Stayed for a week. Teas, coffee and shower gel (which was empty from day 2) were not replenished.Food is what you expect, not great but ok.Security was way over the top. Had a friend with me, who was in the hotel next door, get a taxi back to this hotel with me. Security wouldn't even let him get out of the taxi in the parking lot to go to his hotel next door. Started shouting at him for no reason. Very strange and ruined a great night.Staff in the hotel are great and the place is very clean.I wouldn't stay here again, just for the rude Security staff.

Reading through the reviews, some of them resonate. The food here is fine, it's cheap buffet slop. Don't expect gourmet and you won't be disappointed. There is lots of it though the variety isn't great. Meal times get very busy so be prepared to queue. The rooms are perfectly decent, our room was clean and well maintained. Again, nothing special.Staff have been pleasant and helpful if needed. One thing you must be aware of, the noise! My goodness! Not once was it mentioned when we booked with our travel agent, it seems from about 8pm the entire area surrounding the hotel becomes a carnival/nightclub/primary school disco that goes on until 11pm.I am not exaggerating, there is absolutely no escaping the noise, it reverberates throughout the hotel. Trying to get a toddler to sleep wasn't a pleasant experience, not was trying to get to sleep ourselves.Seriously, the hotel needs to invest some money in sound proofing because it is unbearably loud.

We recently stayed here for 14 nights. The hotel is smaller than other Riu hotels we have visited. The rooms are smaller than we are used to, and could do with more drawer space. The whole of the hotel is spotlessly clean. It is a U-shaped building with a pleasant grassed area right in the middle. All the amenities are in the centre, with the entertainment stage and 24 hour bar are at one end of the pool. At the other end is the main restaurant and next is the Spanish restaurant, followed by another bar and walking on is the Asian restaurant, gym and toilets, before you come back to the reception area. The food in the main restaurant is good, always find something to my taste, however not the huge choice we have experienced at other Riu hotels. The Asian and Spanish restaurants are well worth a visit and are included in the all inclusive package. There are lots of loungers in the pool area, there was never a problem finding somewhere to sit.The only downside is the location, there is a free shuttle bus to the beach which seems to run frequently. The area around the hotel was very rundown and scruffy, no decent restaurants or bars close by, but it’s All inclusive in the hotel so no real need to go outside.

Great hotel, staff very friendly and very helpful!Food selection was great always something I could find and they changed it around over the days often enough. Rooms were clean and spacious. Always found a sunlounger! Pool, was nice. Riu party's definitely worth going too. Hotel entertainment itself was not to my taste but hotel close to bars and clubs if you want to go out in the evening.Bit of walk to beach but only 15mins and they have a shuttle bus.

Stayed at Riu Papayas for a week. Lovely hotel. The staff - were all happy and friendly. The pool - very clean and not freezingThe food - great choice and good foodThe speciality restaurants - Spanish one was really good, the Asian one not quite as goodThe bars - we sat mostly at the top bar, not where the entertainment was. Great place to have a quiet drink and a game of cards. Drinks were usually branded alcohol and the staff weren't shy in giving you a decent measure. The rooms - very spacious and huge bathrooms with amazing shower. The location - only 10/15 minutes walk to bars and restaurants. The courtesy bus to the beach and back was great.

Had a fantastic time here at the end of August. Although the Hotel is not on the beach front, there is a free shuttle bus to the beach. We walked there as it only took us 15 minutes. The hotel staff are polite and friendly. There is plenty of choice of food which I must say was very nice. There was also a free Friday party at Riu's sister hotel the Gran Canaria, free transport included. My only complaint was the week went too fast.

Stayed here in early September with my 15 month old and her dad. Can not fault anything. The staff were incredible and so brilliant with our daughter, it was really sweet to see.Great variety of food, impressive changing salad bar, amazing desserts.Hotel it’s self is very clean as is the poolI think the only downside for me was the gym is very basic and no free weights but that is my only quibble.Beach only a 10/15 minute walkYou can hire prams and car seats from the hotel which was very handyA great first family holiday

We were there at the end of June this year. The rooms are nice, ours was pretty spacious, each one has a balcony with a table and chairs. Our bed (I don’t know if all rooms are like that) was made up of 2 mattresses, which we both absolutely dislike. The mattress itself was comfortable. Charging in the USB port is really slow and all our electronic devices got really heated during charging. Bathrooms are nice, spacious and clean. Cleaning service in general was also very good. All staff was super friendly and helpful, they spoke Spanish of course, but also flawless English AND German! at the reception, a big thumbs up for all of them!Food was not bad, but also not good… just acceptable. Mostly the same things every day, everything was oily and not much to choose from. I saw many people wrote reviews about how good the food is, but to us it was kind of a disappointment. For the Asian and Spanish restaurants you need to make a reservation at the reception, it takes maybe 2 days to get one. These 2 restaurants are also closed for like 2 days a week. The Asian restaurant was an absolute disaster, but the Spanish one had better food than the main restaurant. Regarding drinks, not too many cocktails to choose from, but it didn’t bother us too much. At breakfast, they bring you big coffee pots to the table. That coffee is really good. If you miss breakfast and you take coffee from the bars, prepare for a bad one. It’s just that type of instant, coffee vending machine coffee. There was a lot of loud entertainment, for both kids and adults, which I just found extremely annoying because I wanted peace and quiet, but I guess others like it. Didn’t try the pool, we preferred to go to the beach during the day, where there was a more relaxing atmosphere. We rented a car during our stay there and I’ve been searching everywhere if the hotel had a guest parking and could not find any infos. They DO HAVE A PARKING!!! It was really helpful, because you don’t always find one on the street nearby. While the hotel itself is really nice, I didn’t find the area to be a nice one. Around the hotel there were other hotels, but we couldn’t find any nice area with bars and terraces. All Playa del Ingles honestly looked like a rundown area, but that’s another story. We went to both parties (Neon and White Party) organized at another RIU, I think RIU Gran Canaria (?) and it was really nice, we enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. You have to make a reservation at the reception and they offer free bus transfer to/from the party. The hotel was also much nicer. All in all, we enjoyed our stay there, with small inconveniences that didn’t affect us much. But I think I will choose an adults only hotel next time.

Firstly, we went as a group of friends but found are selves in a hotel filled with families ie kids or old people. However, my compliments to the staff, most of them were always helpful and extremely friendly. Carlos in the reception was exceptional! In terms of food, it was good but not outstanding. It was alright.I didn't like the uncomfortable beds, at first we didn't even have blankets. after a freezing first night we had to ask for it.The bathroom didn't have toothbrush or other hygiene equipment. There was only one soap for two people which they didn't change after cleaning. The cleaning it self had poor result.Lastly, minor discomfort was the view. It wasn't the best. But our friend who stayed on the other side of the hotel had a great view.Honestly, this is a good hotel for the price, but it cannot be compared to other 4 star hotels I've stayed at.

I love this hotel. It's my favourite place on the island to stay in. Entertainment team is amazing. Hotel is clean, food is great. Only complaint they are still using magnetic door locks so keep your card away from your phone and headphones.

Pros- Local supermarket nearby- Decent food- Swimming pool and kids area okay- Staff was in general very good and professional.- Children's entertainment good.- Price is very affordable.- Pool beds are normally available.Cons- Small towels, i mean like really small. You almost wonder whats going on.- Cleaners don't really care and do a basic job.- The boiled eggs on breakfast were always overcooked. I spoke to management but the bad eggs continued for 14 days i was there.- Very small site for the hotel. Its all quite crammed in.- You cant smoke on the balcony. This was not mentioned anywhere.- There is a very quick turnover of a massive amount of guests all the time.- Around 20 mins walk from beach. When you get close to the beach its a steeps stair walk down.- Rooms are small, like much smaller than other hotels we have visited. But enough to do the job during the holiday.- During peak times of showering ie breakfast our room shower would randomly go super hot even enough to burn us.- Spanish restaurant was terrible. They need to change it to something else.

We have just returned home after our second visit to the hotel, once again it didn’t disappoint. The staff, facilities and the location of the hotel are wonderful, the hotel is absolutely immaculate and the staff all take great pride in their roles making for a great holiday. We’re certainly not hard to please with food, and the hotel chefs provide an excellent array of great tasting dishes every day, we particularly love the mountains of fresh fruit and the delicious vegetables on offer during service. We will certainly be returning later in the year, for another two week stay.Allan & Mandy White Room 50316-30th May 24PS: A special mention to Linda on reception, you were fantastic !! Staff are very welcoming and helpful, the hotel is clean, in a good location, food is plentiful, and you can always find something to eat. Downfall is the entertainment, which could do with more professional acts. Oh sorry drinks not really, as they should be. No branded drinks, and the mixers are water down out of a pump. Unless, of course, you like beer the this is plentiful.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and had a fresh atmosphere. The service was truly outstanding, with everyone being incredibly friendly. The location couldn't have been better. While the food didn't quite match up to expectations in terms of taste, it seems to be a common trait of Spanish cuisine.

They say it’s free parking, in reality it’s employee parking. The hotel has a sizeable parking lot that they mark as “subject to availability”. What they fail to communicate is that availability is exceptionally low because they use the parking as employee parking. When you raise this with the reception’s manager lady and ask for advice they basically say “tough luck mate, go find a spot on the street”. The surrounding streets are also very hard to find a parking spot. There are two problems here:- They don’t communicate that the parking is permanently very low availability.- This is a €200-300/night hotel. Not a low cost chain. It’s the hotel’s decision how they use their parking resources, but they should communicate this transparently to the guests. Because when you come for a few days vacation you certainly don’t want to spend 30-90 minutes per day to spinning around looking for parking.Disappointing experience.———UPDATE:After one more try of asking for help eventually the assistant manager (Romina) was exceptionally helpful. She provided a temporary resolution and promised she would contact the head office of RIU to uodate reservation sites to reflect the reality.UPDATE 2:Riu responded and promised they would look into why Reception was not that helpful. This is a move to the right direction. Thank you!

Our stay at Riu Papayas Hotel was nothing short of excellent, especially considering its location right in the heart of the city, not far from a bustling main road. Surprisingly, however, the noise from the street didn't permeate the premises, offering a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle and bustle. For those keen on beach outings, complimentary shuttles circulate several times a day, making access to the shore incredibly convenient. Inside the hotel, there's a plethora of activities and entertainment catering to both children and adults. It's worth noting that the activities seem more geared towards older kids, around 8 years old and up, though younger ones aren't left out with activities like splash pool fun or arts and crafts sessions. Each evening, the entertainment program was top-notch, drawing in sizable crowds and indicating widespread interest. The staff went above and beyond, quickly learning our drink preferences and warmly greeting us from afar the next day. A special mention must be made of the animation team, who truly enhanced our stay. Their efforts have us seriously considering a return visit to this establishment—they fulfilled their role impeccably. Thank you, and perhaps, until we meet again!

Excellent hotel, very clean as you would expect for the RIu chain, around the bars and restaurants there is no mess, no bins full, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms are nice, not much noise from other rooms, noise from nearby hotels is loud, but you are on holiday, we had a nice south facing room with sun on the balcony in the evening ,rooms clean, the only negative I can give was the shower water pressure, but not a big deal. Pool area very nice, no broken tiles, always cleaning, good entertainment if you want it for the kids, if you don't, go to one of the mezzanine Areas to relax. The restaurants were excellent, plenty of choices of food, good quality, again always clean at every station, we booked into the Spanish and Asian restaurants, both good, food was well presented at buffet, the service was excellent..zhu was slightly better.Cocktails were ok, nothing special, all pre-made. But again, plenty of other choices for drinks. Location, for buses excellent , three bus stops within a 2 minute walk. Good for getting around the island and the bus service is excellent. playa Del Inglis isn't the best resort on the island, but jump on a bus and go to Melanores 15 minutes away. Overall A very good stay. Recommended.

This hotel has a lot going for it. Large sunny pool area with ample areas to lounge in the sun. There is a large stage area with bar and lots of seating. The rooms are well kept as is the hotel. English language tv is limited to a couple of channels. All inclusive food is excellent however the themed restaurants were more accurately themed buffets. The area around the hotel is more hotels. Area shopping is limited to a few grocery stores and souvenir shops. The beach shuttles run frequently enough how for those who walk be prepared for stairs and or an uphill climb.

Brilliant hotel. We have already booked to return. A couples of negatives - More UK TV channels needed and I think the front 10 rows of the stage should be made completely non smoking to protect the vast majority who don't smoke. Aside from these little things this is overall the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It packs a big punch for its small size and its the compact nature of the site which Is a big selling point for me as you don't have far to walk to get anywhere - particularly good for guests with walking difficulties. That said what really makes this hotel a super place to stay are the people. From the friendly and helpful management to the happy and thorough cleaners it's a well run ship. The food in the buffet is superb, extensive and varied. It caters for all tastes and nationalities. The waiting staff work so hard and clear tables promptly. I wasn't keen on the Spanish or Asian restaurants but that's not an issue to me as the buffet is so good. The icing on the cake are the animation team who all work so hard and put on very professional shows. If you enjoy having fun you'll love this hotel. I would urge everyone to join in some of the activities as we met some lovely people which made it a holiday to remember.

Just returned from a 7 night stay. Hotel was very clean, bedrooms cleaned everyday with option of daily bedding and towel changes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sunbed area around the actual pool was very busy and a bit cramped but there are two raised balcony areas which were well positioned overlooking the pool. Plenty of bar and self service drinks available. Like most all inclusive, the food caters for a wide variety with plenty of cold & hot meats, salad, pasta, pizzas. Two themed restaurant, Spanish and Asian ( Chinese). The Chinese didn't have much to my taste to be honest. My ONE annoyance was the noise in the accommodation corridors. There were a number of people with no consideration for others trying to sleep as they allowed their room doors to slam shut or were shouting along the corridor when going to their rooms. This was well after 11pm. Overall, an enjoyable holiday, with sun, a beach within a 12 minute walk and a comfortable hotel. We booked with Tui who were flawless and well organised. Would I stay at this hotel again.....Yes.

Just got back from 4 days at this hotel. It was a great experience with a large room, great variety in all-inclusive and friendly staff! The location is a bit far from the beach, but you have a regular bus that takes you there and back to the hotel. The only suggestion I would have for improvement is to maybe modify the food by the pool, I understand that burgers/fries and nuggets are a standard for that kind of food - but if the chefs could at least make the patties fresh or move away from frozen products, that would definitely improve the experience.

Worthy of 5 stars, but Smokers given priority!Recently stayed here for 1 week at the end of September. We absolutely loved the hotel, location and facilities but sadly the hotel prioritises smokers over everyone else.Rui says that they follow local regulations on smoking but it's too much. People are smoking everywhere that you can't even keep your balcony door open without smelling smoke. In addition, the whole seating area directly in front of the stage is for smokers with non-smokers being shoved to the side! Even the kids entertainment is in the middle of the smoking section with kids having to dance and play in the smoke. Shame on you RIU.Otherthan the above I have little else to criticise, the hotel rooms are modern, spacious, good AC and excellent daily housekeeping. Food was medium quality but generally good and something for everyone. Some nights had a lot of fish, Including tuna pizza (yuck)! The chinese restaurant is good but probably only worth visiting once. The beach coach is useful and always on time but can get busy, resulting in having to wait to return. All inclusive drinks were good and consisted of coke, slush, lemon cider, Amstal beer, non branded spirits and some ready-made style cocktails. They also have free bottled water.I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again, but pray RIU will do a good thing and review their smoking policy.

The room was so spacious and modern looking. The food in the buffet was so delicious, and there was a great selection of meat, salad, pasta, desert, and dishes in general. There was always something different to eat in every meal every day! They offer two complimentary restaurants for dining, one serving Asian food and another one Spanish. We went to the Asian place and we loved it. It is a buffet style, so you can help yourself with the food you want. You need to book in advance to eat at these restaurants, and this can be done through their app.The pool was beautiful and with lots of entertainment during the day. There were lots of loungers around the pool. Even though there were lots of loungers, some guests put their towels to keep the seats on hold for hours. (Not very nice attitude)The hotel offers free shuttle bus to playa del ingles and it is very handy, if you want to explore the beaches and the commercial area.Staff was super helpful and sweet. We arrived late at night to check-in, and the dinner buffet was about to close. The receptionist was so kind to let us know this and asked us to eat something first before starting the check-in process.I think the only feedback I'd give is to change the size of the glasses for fizzy drinks. It is really small.

The hotel was OK in general, but there are a few downsides compared to other RIUs, for example the RIU Palmeras which is close by.We liked that the personnel was very friendly and helpful. The room was fine and clean. On the 7th floor we had lots of issues with water pressure and warm water. Even though we asked almost every day to fix it, not much happened. The food was disappointing. It was mostly same food every day and lots of unhealthy choices like burgers at every lunch, multiple sections with fries or buttered vegetables. The Spanish restaurant was also disappointing, no vegetarian choices at all, most of the stuff was fried. The Asian restaurant was good, we liked the sushi and the tuna.Another disappointment were the drinks. They only have soda machines with self-services (no waiters in the restaurant) and the sodas just don’t taste good from the machine. Cocktails were all pre-mixed and not fresh.Entertainment was good during the day. Evening shows were nice and karaoke was fun. The shows organized and performed by the RIU team were weird..like weird dancing and imitating famous people.Parking is available inside, but quite limited since also employees park there. You can park a few times inside illegally, you’ll only get a small letter on your car. Outside we always found parking which is free of charge in the blue zones. The pool was nice, but very small given the amount of people. We didn’t like the towel policy..towel change only between 9-12am, and only one towel per person. Sure, one towel fits me and the whole sunbed..

Great hotel ,food excellent only one gripe don't really cater for 13 years and above entertainment wise could do with a pool table and games room but other than that spot on

A fantastic hotel! We stayed all inclusive and my daughter required gluten free options. The staff catered for her perfectly. She could have anything she wanted; she’d order in the previous sitting for the next. Pizza, pasta, garlic bread, pancakes and more. Top notch service. Entertainment team are fantastic too. We saw some of the very best acts we have seen whilst on holiday at this hotel. RIU is a brand we’ll keep looking out when booking a holiday having now stayed with them in Miami and Gran Canaria. Great resort for families with older children/young adults.

Spent 11 nights here recently and have to say and applaud the staff for their hardwork. This hotel is spotlessly clean.Staff could work on their English as communication was a tad difficult at times.Food...... omg enough variety that would suit the fussiest of eaters. The on site chinese restaurant was also amazing.

Great service, friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean, fantastic house keeping, very energetic activities and entertainment crew. Great food but no branded drinks. Very much a party area around the hotel and can get noisy especially from the hotel next-door. Still a nice place to stay.

If you were a smoking couple this would be perfect for you! As a family with 2 young children the smoking was way too much, they even do a kids Congo line through the smoking area. The main seating area for the shows is all smoking with a few non-smoking tables right to the side so you can hardly see the stage. The hotel claims to be smoke free but it is not! We spoke to both the hotel and Tui but they weren't bothered. The food was ok for a buffet and my kids loved the animation team,Would I stay again - definitely not

Great place to stay in Gran Canaria. Rooms are renovated and well maintained. Cleaning service and fresh towels are provided every day. Pool area is quite large with high number of sunbeds. Staff is doing their absolute best to make your stay perfect. Dining was quite good - main restaurant and 2 themed available upon earlier booking. Would be great to be your guest again 🙂

Great fully inclusive hotel with good facilities. Everywhere is scrupulously clean and the maids do a really good job in the rooms. Rooms are good size with fridge kettle and safe. Large shower room. There are 2 bars and 2 restaurants along with the main buffet style restaurant which serves a massive range of food. There is food and drink available 24hrs. Good range of entertainment and activities daily. Buffet food is generally excellent and fresh, local wine is pretty basic and only one option, same with the beer. Only downside side which applies to most Spanish hotels are the floors thin and corridors noisy but most people go to bed early so not too much of a problem.

I was really hesitating between giving 3 and 4 stars. The hotel itself is pleasant, the room spacious and nice, together with a big balcony. However the moment you get out of the room you feel overwhelmed with noise and crowd of people everywhere. Meals area always crowded, difficult to find a table, unless you come very early or very late. Not mentioning the pool area that looks awful with crowd! Not relaxing at all! Mass tourism in its pure form. Things to avoid: coffee (simply terrible!), juices, low quality desserts. Things to try: very good risotto, good choice of fish changing every day. In the end we could always find something good to eat, so be careful as it's easy to get some extra kilos at the end of the stay. 😉 As for the service, there was some people that were extremely unpleasant and some others were super nice (cleaning lady), but don't expect 5 or even 4 stars service here.

It's not bad. The food is the same every day and they're quick to get you off the table. The alcohol isn't the brand you think you're getting, it's bottled locally and probably mixed in the back, but it's one of those all inclusive hotels, so don't be surprised.

This is my first time in Gran Canaria and this hotel and the staff have made my experience great. The rooms and lobby are clean and the views are fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and it is a quick walk to the beach. 10/10 would stay again.

Fabulous hotel. Some have given it a bad review but the staff, food, facilities were excellent. The lady that ran Riu Art was great, she made a beautiful fairy for my great granddaughter. The rep Lindsey was wonderful, very knowledgeable, bubbly and friendy. I will definitely visiting again

We are currently stopping at this hotel. The staff are fantastic, the rooms are well appointed and are spotless . The food has been faultless every meal good quality . The all-inclusive drinks are also spot on I would recommend this hotel . Although try to get a pool / garden room these get the sunshine longer throughout the day .

Very clean and modern hotel. The all inclusive food is good and changes daily. The staff is very friendly too.The location is ok but if you want to visit more (nicer) beaches and nicer shopping malls you might want to rent a car which is also cheaper than taxi. For a care-free vacation this is without a doubt one of the best hotel options.

Reasonably good. Hotel is nice, most things seem clean. All-in food is pretty good and enough variety. Asian restaurant was disappointing, Spanish and buffet were good.Few things that would drastically improve the experience:- children swimming pool was ice cold. Please put this 5 degrees up. Also the slides where hard to get into l, the stairs are terrible for kids below 4 years. Even older kids struggle with this- no pool bar or drinks allowed in the pool.- shower temperature was going from extremely hot to ver cold. Pretty dangerous with a baby- tables with the pool chairs would be niceOverall I would probably come back but a few little things would make it so much better

The papayas is totally immaculate! The staff work so hard to keep the place spotless and it shows! Restaurants are beautiful as is the food that is on offer every mealtime. Everything is cooked to perfection and loads of choice. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous, loads of sunbeds and again spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and again immaculately presented. Only minor niggle is aircon could be better, we struggled to cool the room down but by no means were we uncomfortable.

Lovely clean hotel with helpful staff. Food was okay at the main buffet restaurant. Breakfasts were fantastic. We visited both specialist resturants during our stay, both were better than the main buffet evening meal, the Spanish one was especially good. Beds were comfy and the room had totally blackout curtains which was great.

Even after our first full day, I would recommend this place and already want to come back, the location is great, minutes from the sea by foot and the pool is so refreshing, plenty of sun beds and the restaurant has something delicious for everyone, what's not to love! With a Spanish and Asian restaurant as well as the main restaurant, there is more food to choose from that anyone needs, the bars serve a good selection of drinks and even have an after hours service 12am-7am for those who want to keep the party going in to the small hours... This place ticks all the boxes and more!

We had a great stay at the RIU Papayas and would happily return again. All the Staff are really friendly. Hotel is exceptionally clean. The food was superb with lots of options and varied choices. Pool area and sunbeds lovely too. Gym was good for cardio, but if you wanted weights / machines, then Joe's Gym round the corner was best in area and very reasonable. The hotel bars serve drinks with generous measures of alcohol anytime 24 hrs. that are all included in your all inclusive.Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved it. The staff, food, rooms and everything is first class. I mentioned the staff first because they are brilliant, extremely courteous and nothing is too much trouble. The food hall is run with military precision and the place is spotlessly clean. I'm not usually a fan of all inclusive and this is down to a poor previous experience at another chain of hotels. I must admit, Riu Papayas and the team have changed my mind completely. Thanks again everyone for fantastic experience and keep up the good work.

Really nice and clean hotel. Quite large modern double rooms with plenty of hanging space and a couple of large drawers. Beds comfy and room very clean. Nice bathroom as well. Food is good and cater for gluten free upon request. Also have gluten free beer. What let's this hotel down is the evening entertainment. There is an acrobat act that is brilliant, but was on four nights out of ten literally doing the same thing. A duo was on and weren't engaging with some songs hard understand what they were singing. Another act did a bit of singing then a Spanish dance that for me was boring. Acts came on for about 45 mins then that was it. 11 o clock and all music stops, if that late. Reality is the amount of people all inclusive who are out in other bars at night, which wouldn't happen if entertainment was worth watching.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The staff is amazing, very friendly, great attention to details, fast response times and keeping the place clean and ready for guests to relax. The food was very good at the buffet, they change menus every day and have variety in all meals. It wasn’t difficult to find chairs to sunbathe but I do have to add that the pool is both for kids and adults. Entertainment is for a family environment so if you are young and single or for young couples, it will not be the most appealing for you. It is a wholesome place to stay, rooms are spacious and if you are lucky, you get a nice view too. We spent Christmas and New Years there, the food was great and very organized.

Stayed here from the 3rd of January 2022. For two weeks. First week was brilliant entertainment staff were great and the shows were. Asian restaurant & Spanish restaurant. But all changed on the second week . Not so many entertainment staff around. Only one show that week with the entertainment staff in. Told on the second week the Asian restaurant is closed for, 3 week's, Was very disappointed. The hotel is very clean and well maintained.

The director is very polite and made us fell welcomed. The manager of main restaurant wasn't that good. The hotel itself is good but Germans should be advised that they're not owners of hotel as I saw many of them leaving their towel on the swimming pool chair at 7 or 8 a.m and then going back to their bedrooms as I have a daughter was impossible to watch from the chair's area as all chairs were taken. That's very ridiculous and unfair. Definitely we won't be back!

Fantastic hotel, very friendly helpful staff who are always more than happy to help. Food in the restaurant was great, cooked in front of you and excellent choice along with very tasty desserts. Must try the other two whilst there. Drinks selection behind the bar was really good, bar staff must be the quickest I’ve ever seen never leave you waiting for more than 2mins in a queue. Cocktails are strong but fantastic. The entertainment staff do there best and are friendly. Don’t be shy and get up to try the activities, I had a great time and laugh learning how to dance. Hope one of the entertainment reps was fantastic and a credit to the hotel. All in all a 10/10 holiday, hotel everything. We will definitely be back again soon

Only stayed one night, but found it to be a beautiful hotel.Friendly and professional staff, stunningly presented rooms, plenty of space to relax around the pool and many other areas, in both sun and shade. It clearly deserves its 4th star rating. Stands head and shoulders above its neighbouring hotel which I have also stayed before.I will return here, was lovely in every way.

Really good food and excellent service with friendly staff.Courtesy bus to the beach is a god send. The walk to the beach isn't far but it's a long hill to climb if carrying lots of stuff for kids.Im here late October and the main pool is heated just enough to take the chill off so you and the kids can spend hours in there without shivering. The rooms are really spacious even with the double sofa bed made up.The only negatives for me are the bath towels are on the small side and the beds are firm. It's my second time here and I'd happily return.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms spotless, hotel spotless. Hand gel everywhere and very stricked on masks being used, as I found out a couple of times when I forgot. Food was great with lots of variety. A shuttle bus to the beach ran from 9.30am to 5pm everyday.DRAW BACKS!!!Not enough seating area outside to eat your meals and often found ourselves hanging around for tables to be cleared. Sunbeds way to close to each other around the pool and "towels at dawn".

Worst 4 star hotel I ever visited. The food is everyday the same, you could have chocked from the meat that were so overcooked and they even ruined the fries or patatoes by adding too much salt. The pool is also very salty like we're swimming in the sea. The rooms are spacious and clean but it is very noisy. You hear the music of the hotel around the corner. Animation team was really nice but we had karaoke three days in a row. Also, they did not poor bacardi or anything, but the cheapest alcohol. Overall a very bad experience

A very beautiful and nice hotel, with friendly and attentive staff, buffet was good, health measures were on point, variety of activities with a massive pool, there's a frequent shuttle service to and from the beach, got a bottle wine for my birthday as courtesy from the hotel.. My stay was great.. Will recommend this hotel over and over again.. Thanks for a wonderful experience

A beautifull small hotel, a large variety of food and very friendly personnel...I really recommend this hotel if you like a relaxed and luxe hotel with good food. The taxi's and bus are like at a 1 minute walking distance.P. S. Being genuinely friendly and polite to the spanish locals will get you very far instead of being negative like I've seen some of you tourists do👀.

Great hotel, staff at reception are helpful and always friendly, rooms are kept clean and tidy. We had a problem with our room and it was fixed within 30mins. Entertainers are great and put on a good show. Food is excellent and has a great variety throughout the week. Pool and loungers are great and the hotel is 5-10minutes walk from the hotel but they offer a shuttle service.

The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from Playa Inglés, the staff is super friendly and welcoming, big rooms and nice buffet. The gym is really small, and due to the pandemic hand sanitiser are deployed in common areas and in every room. The swimming pool isn't heated which isn't nice during chill days during winter

The rooms always clean and well done. The staff was amazing always smiling, helping, nice. The food was 90% of the times delicious. You can always find something to eat. The animation were trying with what they were allowed (due to covid) to make the stay enjoyable. The kids pool is fun. The one pool is big (but not enough if full occupancy). We had a really nice 3 weeks experience. I would have preferred a tip box for the restaurant and one for the rooms.
